Best Microtask Sites to Earn Online (2026)

Last verified 19 platforms listed How we check

Microtask sites pay small amounts for quick online jobs: labeling data, rating AI answers, testing apps, or taking part in studies and surveys. For most people it adds up to pocket money rather than a wage, and what you make depends on your country, how much work is open, and how quickly you finish it. Every platform below was checked against its own pages, so you can compare payouts, countries and devices before you sign up.

Platform types explained

Microtasks

Short jobs that take seconds or minutes, like tagging images, checking search results, transcribing a clip or sorting data. Each task pays a small amount, so a steady supply of work and a low minimum payout matter most.

AI training and data labeling

You help improve AI models by rating chatbot answers, writing prompts, comparing outputs or labeling data. Expect an assessment and an ID check before your first paid task, and projects that open and close depending on your skills, language and country.

User testing

You try websites and apps while you say your thoughts out loud, and companies pay for the recording. Most tests need a working microphone and a quiet room, sometimes a webcam, and a short screener decides who gets each test.

Research studies

Universities and companies pay you to take part in studies, questionnaires and experiments. Studies are matched to your profile, so keep it accurate. Places are often limited by country, and some platforms use a waitlist.

Surveys and offerwalls (GPT sites)

Survey sites pay for your opinions. Offerwall sites, often called GPT or "get paid to" sites, pay for trying apps, playing games or signing up for offers. Rewards often come as points you swap for cash or gift cards. Read each offer first, since some ask you to spend money or share personal data.

Watch out for these catches

General advice that applies to almost every platform, whatever the type.

  • Payment holds

Many platforms hold new earnings for a review period, and a first payout can take longer than later ones. Read the payout schedule before you put in serious hours.

  • Screen-outs

Surveys and studies can end early when you are not in the target group. Some pay a little for that and many pay nothing, so a site that screens you out again and again is not worth your time.

  • Country and VPN rules

Sign up only from a country the platform supports, and keep your real location. A VPN or a fake address breaks most terms of service and is a common reason for closed accounts and lost balances.

  • Identity checks

Expect to prove who you are, often with a photo ID or a selfie check, before you can cash out. Upload documents only on the platform's own site, never through a link sent by chat or email.

  • Minimum payouts

You can only withdraw after you pass a threshold, and each payout method can set its own. A low threshold lets you confirm that a site really pays before you invest more time.

  • Taxes and fees

Payout services can charge transfer or currency fees, and your earnings usually count as income. Keep a simple record of what you earn and what you pay in fees.

Closed platforms

These platforms no longer take new workers. They are not in the list above, so you can spot outdated advice elsewhere.

  • Amazon Mechanical Turk Closed

Amazon's microtask marketplace shut down for good on 30 September 2026. The only step left is housekeeping: workers must confirm payment preferences by 30 October 2026 so approved earnings are paid out on their normal schedule.

How we check

  • Every fact comes from the platform's own pages: its sign up page, help center, payout page or terms. Each card lists those pages under Sources, with the date we checked them.
  • When a platform does not publish something, or we could not confirm it, the card says Not confirmed. We never fill a gap with a guess.
  • Minimum payout is the lowest cash out threshold across a platform's payout methods. Amounts are shown as the platform lists them, without currency conversion, and the payout sort compares them the same way.
  • Verdicts follow a fixed rule. Ready to try: active, with at least four of five key facts confirmed (minimum payout, payout methods, countries, devices and minimum age). Some facts missing: active, with fewer of them confirmed. Check access first: sign ups are limited, for example by a waitlist or country rules. Wait for our checks: we could not confirm that the platform is open.
  • Best picks use fixed rules on the same data, printed under each pick. Closed platforms are never picked or listed in the directory.
  • No platform pays to be listed or ranked. Links go straight to the official sites and are not referral links.

Microtask sites FAQ

Are microtask sites legit?

Many are real companies that pay for real work, but scam sites copy their look. A legit platform names the company behind it, publishes its payout rules and terms, and never asks you to pay to join. Every platform on this page was checked against its own pages, and anything we could not confirm is marked Not confirmed.

Which microtask site pays the most?

No single site pays the most for everyone. Work that needs a skill or a qualification test, such as AI training, research studies and user testing, tends to pay more per task than quick clicks, but it has fewer openings and stricter entry rules. Rates also change by country and project, so compare the minimum payout and payout methods first, then try two or three sites that fit you.

How much can you earn with microtasks?

Think of it as extra money, not a salary. What you earn depends on how much work is open in your country, your speed and accuracy, and whether you pass a platform's tests. Treat any promise of a fixed income as a warning sign.

Do microtask sites work in every country?

No. Many platforms accept sign ups only from certain countries, and some open projects country by country. Check the Countries line on each card, and do not use a VPN to get around a block: most terms forbid it, and accounts can be closed with the balance unpaid.

Can I do microtasks on my phone?

Some platforms have Android or iOS apps or work in a mobile browser, but much AI training and data labeling work needs a computer. The Devices line on each card shows what the platform itself says.

Do I have to pay tax on microtask earnings?

In most countries, money from online tasks counts as income, even in small amounts. Rules differ by country, so keep a simple record of what you earn and check with your local tax office.
